Mercedes-Benz Digital Service Book
Authorised Independent Workshop
Peninsular Motors is one of a limited number of independent workshops in Queensland authorised to update the official Mercedes-Benz Digital Service Book. Your car's service history stays complete, factory-verified, and visible at any Mercedes-Benz dealer in the world.
What the Digital Service Book Means for You
Mercedes-Benz stopped issuing paper service books years ago. Today your service record lives on a central, tamper-protected factory database // The Digital Service Booklet (DSB). Only workshops verified by Mercedes-Benz can write to it.
That's the quiet catch with most independent servicing: the work may be excellent, but if the workshop can't record it on the DSB, your official Mercedes-Benz history shows a gap. When you sell the car, or make a warranty or goodwill claim, that gap costs you real money.
When Peninsular Motors services your Mercedes-Benz:
- Your service is recorded on the official factory system // The same database the dealership writes to
- Every Mercedes-Benz dealer worldwide can see it // Your history reads exactly like dealer servicing
- You receive a printed Digital Service Report as proof of the entry
- Your resale value is protected // A complete factory history is one of the strongest price supports a used Mercedes has
Your Warranty Is Safe With Us // It's the Law
Under Australian Consumer Law, you do not have to service your car at the dealership to keep your new-car warranty. Any suggestion otherwise is simply wrong. The law asks three things of the workshop you choose:
- Qualified technicians carry out the work // Ours are factory-trained, ex Mercedes-Benz and BMW
- Manufacturer specifications and service intervals are followed // We service strictly to the factory schedule
- Parts of appropriate quality are used // We fit genuine or OEM-quality parts only, never cheap substitutes
We meet all three on every job, stamp your logbook, and record the service in the DSB. Your warranty stays exactly as strong as it was the day you drove out of the showroom.
The Numbers, Plainly

| Mercedes Service B equivalent | $800-$1,200 | from $650 |
| Digital Service Book entry | Included | Included |

Same factory record. Same warranty protection. Same quality of parts. The only thing missing is the dealership's overhead on your invoice.
Digital Service Book // FAQ
What is the Mercedes-Benz Digital Service Book (DSB)?
Since around 2008-2012, Mercedes-Benz phased out paper service books. Your service history now lives in a central, tamper-protected Mercedes-Benz database called the Digital Service Booklet. After each service, an authorised workshop records the work on that factory system and issues you a printed Digital Service Report as proof.
Why does DSB access matter when choosing a workshop?
If a workshop cannot write to the DSB, your official Mercedes-Benz service history shows a gap - even if the work was done perfectly. That gap can hurt resale value and complicate warranty or goodwill claims. Entries made by an authorised workshop are visible to every Mercedes-Benz dealer worldwide, exactly like a dealer service.
Will servicing outside the dealership void my new-car warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law you are free to have your car serviced by any qualified independent workshop without affecting your manufacturer warranty, provided the work is done by qualified technicians, to the manufacturer specifications and intervals, using parts of appropriate quality. That is exactly how we work - and we stamp your logbook and update your DSB as proof.
How much do you save compared to the dealership?
Typically 30-40%. A Mercedes-Benz Service A equivalent that costs $500-$700 at the dealer starts from $395 with us; a Service B that dealers charge $800-$1,200 for starts from $650. Every quote is itemised and approved by you before work begins.
Do you only service Mercedes-Benz?
No - Mercedes-Benz and European cars are our specialty, but we service all makes and models with the same premium parts and care, including logbook servicing that keeps any new-car warranty intact.
